Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides free books for children age 0-5. When you enroll, your child will receive the welcome book "The Little Engine That Could". Then, each month, your child will recieve a book especially chosen for their age group. In the month that your child turns 5, they will receive their final book, "Off I Go to Kindergarten". There is never any charge to you for the books or shipping. It may take 2-3 months after registering for your book to arrive. Please notify the Post Office and the Health Foundation if your address ever changes.
The Health Foundation serves as the Harper County Champion (supporter) for DPIL. We partner with DPIL to provide books for children that reside in Harper County. Reading with your child encourages vocabulary growth, rhyming skills, and thinking skills. These are important building blocks that prepare your child to read. Reading to your child also creates a bond between the two of you. Literacy is an important element of wellbeing, a part of the Health Foundation's. mission. If you reside in Harper County, you can register your child by clicking on the green button at the top of this page or by filling out a registration card, available at all Harper County Public Libraries, and sending it to the Health Foundation at 485 N KS HWY 2, Anthony , Ks .
