8-week Healthy Hive progress wrap-up chart.

Week 8: Sweet Success!

Submit Your Final Points

Before our last meeting, please email Lori (lwilsonhcohf@gmail.com) your final total of points AND what your main take-aways are from the experience!

New Habits, Wins, and Future Goals

Evaluating your growth across the eight-week Healthy Hive challenge requires looking at both hard data and daily personal observations. Real progress includes improved clinical numbers, structural habit changes, and shifts in how you feel each day.

Reviewing Your Health Data and Clinical Wins

Clinical numbers provide objective measurements of how your body responds to sustained lifestyle changes. Comparing your ending metrics against your Week 1 baseline reveals the physical impact of your daily choices.

Clinical changes like A1C lowering often reflect weeks of consistent daily hydration, dietary fiber, and regular physical activity.

Assessing Daily Habits and Non-Scale Victories

Data only tells part of the story. Non-scale victories, such as improved mood, steadier energy, and better stress management, demonstrate how your daily habits support overall quality of life.

  • Eating and Snacking
Review how often you paired protein with fiber, added local produce, or chose whole grains over processed options. Notice if cravings for added sugar decreased.
  • Stress and Sleep Routine
Reflect on your use of downshift practices such as deep breathing, prayer, journaling, or regular bedtimes. Track changes in sleep quality and daily stress recovery.
  • Social-Emotional Growth
Consider how connecting with your group, attending community walks, or involving family members built a supportive environment for lasting health.
  • Mood and Daily Energy
Pay attention to subjective improvements. Feeling less sluggish after meals or staying calm during demanding days are direct results of balanced blood sugar and adequate rest.

Stating What Improved and Setting Your Next Goal

To maintain momentum after the challenge ends, write down your specific improvements and translate them into a clear, manageable goal for the coming months.

Statement of Improvement:
"Over 8 weeks, I increased water intake to 64 oz daily, cut A1C by 0.4%, and walked 150 minutes weekly."

Next Actionable Goal:
"I will maintain 150 weekly movement minutes by attending two local group walks and logging 20 minutes on weekdays."

When defining your next goal, choose one specific habit to protect or one new target to build on. Focus on repeatable actions, such as keeping sugary drink swaps permanent or continuing weekly meal preparation. Staying connected with your group through alumni meetings or local walks provides ongoing accountability as you carry these habits forward.

Community Celebration and How to Create Your Own Group

The finale event marks the conclusion of the eight-week Healthy Hive challenge. Over the past two months, you have tracked baseline numbers, increased daily movement, adjusted drink choices, built balanced meals and snacks, practiced stress reduction, and cooked at home. Celebrating these accomplishments reinforces your progress and establishes a clear path to sustain your healthy habits.

Healthy Hive Finale Event

The finale event brings participants together to honor individual growth, share experiences, and reflect on collective achievements. The event features interactive elements, healthy food, and formal recognition.

  • Healthy Snacks: Enjoy refreshing food options that demonstrate the eating principles covered during the program, such as protein and fiber pairings, fresh garden produce, and lower-sugar beverages.
  • Prize Drawings: Participants who logged their weekly points for movement and social-emotional growth, completed challenges, or attended group events are entered into drawings for wellness incentives, including water bottles, exercise equipment, or kitchen tools like crockpots and air fryers.
  • Recognition Awards: Certificates and awards celebrate specific milestones, including consistent point tracking, high participation, total group movement, and dedication to personal goals.
  • Success Stories: Participants are invited to share personal wins, whether related to A1C improvements, increased daily energy, improved sleep, or establishing a consistent walking routine.

Building Your Own Hive

You do not need to wait for an official program to experience the benefits of a supportive group. You can launch your own Healthy Hive with family members, friends, coworkers, church members, or community groups.

To establish a functional group, select a realistic schedule, choose a primary communication method (such as a text group, email list, or message board), and decide on a few shared weekly habits to track. Focus on consistency rather than perfection.

Practical Steps to Launch a Supportive Group

  1. Identify Your Circle: Reach out to 3 to 8 people in your family, workplace, church, or neighborhood who share an interest in better health.
  2. Define Shared Goals: Select 2 to 3 manageable goals for the group, such as logging 150 minutes of movement per week, replacing sugary drinks, or practicing daily downshift routines.
  3. Set Up a Tracking System: Use a shared check-in system, point sheet, or messaging group to record weekly efforts and encourage one another.
  4. Establish a Meeting Rhythm: Schedule a regular weekly or bi-weekly check-in, such as an evening walk, a lunchtime meeting, or a video call, to discuss wins and challenges.
  5. Celebrate Wins: Acknowledge personal milestones and group progress regularly to maintain motivation over time.

Continual progress relies on strong support networks and consistent daily habits. Maintain your connections, keep tracking your progress, and continue building your Healthy Hive.
